JAZZ CATS AUDITIONS
This course will be offered only if there is adequate space in the master schedule. With our growing enrollment, it is likely this course will need to be eliminated to accommodate more students in beginning and advanced band courses.
IF the Jazz Cats class is offered for next school year, students will be notified, and auditions will be held in early-May. Information follows:
The “PBMS Jazz Cats” is an elective course for comprehensive applied jazz music performance. Students who are chosen by audition will take their “regular” advanced band class AND jazz cats as two of their electives. The Jazz Cats class is open to students who:
1. …play either saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, drum set, bass guitar, guitar, or piano. You may audition on more than one instrument.
2. …will be a student at PBMS as a seventh or eighth grade band member for the following school year.
3. ..achieve placement by audition.
Students who wish to audition for Jazz Cats may audition during their band class in May. Mr. Sellers will set up a date.
