Home - St Augustine Light House

Field Trip to St. Augustine Lighthouse – March 9th:  10:00-12:00

Please ensure your child wears comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing.  If you plan to join us as a chaperone, please sign in with the front office FIRST and then meet us at the classroom by 9:45.  Fingers crossed for some sunshine that day!

Field Day – March 10th:  12:15 – 1:15

Make sure your child wears tennis shoes, weather appropriate clothing, and that sunblock is applied at home.  Hats and sunglasses will be permitted this day.  Water and/or Gatorade will be crucial!  Don’t forget!

A HUGE thank you to St. Augustine Beach Mayor, Don Samora for talking about government on  the local level to 3rd graders!  Mayor Samora was a great sport and answered a lot of important questions from students.  He said “it was the most fun thing he did all week!”

Boosterthon Fun Run – Eader Elementary PTA

Students will run on Thursday, February 17th at 8:30 am!  If you would like to join us to cheer them on, please check in at the office first.  Our incredible PTAO has provided a shirt for each child.  The shirts are white, so have your child wear an undershirt or bring a change of clothes if needed.  Students should wear weather appropriate clothing and tennis shoes that day.  I am looking forward to a SUPER fun morning!

“Souper” Bowl of Caring

February 14th – 18th

Valentine’s Day will kick off our “Souper” Bowl of Caring.  During the week of February 14th, students will be challenged to bring in non-perishable food items and travel-sized hygiene products to support the work of St. Francis House in St. Augustine.  The St. Francis House provides a residential program for homeless youth, single adults, and families.  

Needed items:

  • Canned food
  • Non-perishable lunch items (for bagged lunches)
  • Individual-sized snack items (e.g., small chip bags, granola bars, etc.)
  • Travel-sized hygiene products (e.g. shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush)

Home - St Augustine Light House

We will be taking a walking field trip to the St. Augustine Lighthouse on March 9th.  Students are free, but chaperones must pay $12 and be a cleared volunteer.  I have no limit on chaperones so if you are interested, please le me know!  Field trip forms will go home today.

We focused on goals and intentions this week for the 2nd half of 3rd grade.  Ask your child what they plan to work on!
