Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
I am excited to share with you the following gifted updates:
Gifted Schoology Group: Our Schoology group has made communication and learning so much fun! I know this is not how we anticipated the school year to go, but I have to say that the connection we are maintaining with each other has been fantastic. I am posting on our Schoology group multiple times a week and checking our page every day. I also continue to receive tons of pictures, videos, and messages from my gifted students and/or their parents. They like to share their enrichment projects and results with me and I am so appreciative of that.
I update our Enrichment Folder weekly. Our Enrichment Folder is located in our Schoology Group and contains the following activities:
- Virtual Field Trips
- 30 Day LEGO Challenge
- Scavenger Hunt
- Multiple Intelligence Quiz and Strategies
- Analogies
- Creative Problem Solving
- Logic Puzzles
- Fun Brainy Activities
- Chain Reactions
- Minecraft Creators Activity
- Think Pinks
- Paper airplanes Activity
- Braille Activity
Additional Project: Tin Foil Boat Challenge
I have recorded myself reading the following books and shared them on our elementary Schoology page:
What’s Up Wednesday is just another way I have found to stay connected with my students. For the past couple of weeks I have been posting a “What’s Up Wednesday” question. The students seem to like the odd questions. This gives them an opportunity to discuss or share their thoughts with everyone on our Schoology group or they can send me a message directly with their answers.
Social/Emotional Resource: I wanted to share with you this awesome social emotional resource for your students and parents! It has links to many resources that kids (and grownups) can use to calm down and reduce stress: relaxation techniques, mindfulness, journaling, coloring, sound and music, puzzles and brain games…You have to check out the LIVE ANIMALS tab; it is my absolute favorite…you can watch these beautiful animal species in a live cam! My goal is to continue to connect with students and you. I also have a Google Voice number so you can call or text during my home office hours at (904) 567-6172. Additionally, I will be available every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8PM. As your child’s gifted itinerant/resource teacher I am here for additional help and provision of resources. You can contact me for anything that you may need at [email protected]
