What LEARNING and GROWING went on in room 217 this week:
Academics
ELA: We began The Giraffe the Pelly and Me to continue our novel study of Rolad Dahl this week. We also practiced finding words in a dictionary including terms such as pronunciation, part of speech, guide words, and definition. Finally, we practiced using TEXT FEATURES to get a better understanding of non-fiction text as well as possessive/plural nouns.
Writing: We read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst and practiced adding VIVID details to our stories.
Math: SUBTRACTION!
