Academics

ELA:  Students read and discussed Magic Tree House- Thanksgiving Thursday by Mary Pope Osborne.  This book included many fascinating facts about the 1st Thanksgiving and some unlikely hero’s.  We also focused on pronouns, spelling patterns, and how finding syllables in words help us with unknown words pronunciation and spelling.  Finally, we continued our practice of TEXT FEATURES with an emphasis on the table of contents, glossary, and index to get a better understanding of non-fiction text.

Writing:  We read Kate and Pippin by Isobel Springett and practiced summarizing non-fiction text.

Math:  SUBTRACTION!

Science:  buoyancy
