Welcome Back
Gifted Families!!
I am very excited to be serving your children for the 2023-24 school year!
Gifted Minute: Welcome Letter 23-24
Hello Gifted Families,
I am so happy to be sending you this welcome back email. For those who do not know me, my name is Jaci Racano, and I am the Gifted Resource and Curriculum Enrichment teacher for Pedro Menendez High School and Gamble Rogers Middle School. My role as your child’s gifted teacher is to provide academic and affective support and help each gifted student in reaching individual optimal potential. I serve as an advocate for your gifted student as well as help them develop self-advocacy skills. My goal is to provide a space for gifted students to be themselves, interact with like-minded peers, and build strong relationships with adults and peers.
The high school gifted Educational Plan (EP) is written to include monthly consultations. Some students stop by daily and others check in monthly. In addition, I am a visible face throughout the PMHS campus four days each week and GRMS one day each week. Gifted students are encouraged to reach out for help or just to engage in conversations. The level of support each student needs will be different at different points throughout the year as we help prepare them for future endeavors.
Middle school gifted educational plans are written to allow for differentiation of lessons/activities, adaptations to curriculum, or enrichment activities. I work closely with teachers, your child’s gifted endorsed teacher, and school staff to support each student identified as gifted. I am also available to parents and students for any additional support.
Students can schedule meetings with me by stopping by my office (Pedro Menendez High School OFFICE Room #106 in the Media Center, through Google Text: 904-325-6577 or online at: https://forms.office.com/r/f7vxXXzyg4
