What LEARNING and GROWING went on in room 217 this week:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Academics<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

ELA:\u00a0 We wrapped up reading Horrible Harry and Triple Revenge by <\/em>Suzy Kline.\u00a0 This is chapter book gave us the opportunity to discuss some social\/emotional issues that may arise in school and the right and wrong way to handle them.\u00a0 Our reading block also focused on sorting and recognizing long e words as well as sequential words – first, then, last.<\/span><\/p>\n

Writing:\u00a0 Students wrote about their experiences with Hurricane Irma as well as narratives using silly sentences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Math:\u00a0 We officially wrapped up Numbers to 1,000 and took the Chapter 2 Math Test on Friday.\u00a0 We also enjoyed a few small group game centers such as “I have, who has”, “Race to the top”, and “Beat the Teacher”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Science: We studied discussed the importance of the Scientific Method.<\/span><\/p>\n

Social Studies:\u00a0 We practiced labeling the continents and oceans on a map.<\/span><\/p>\n
