including mine!\u00a0 We are enjoying hearing from different characters perspectives and practicing using inflection as we read.\u00a0 Our reading block also focused on sorting, recognizing, and spelling r-controlled words as well as exploring text features in books.\u00a0\u00a0 Lastly, we are focusing on Lesson 3 Wordly Wise vocab.\u00a0 <strong>Your child&#8217;s vocab journal with their new job should be in their backpack.\u00a0 Journals are due September 30th.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Writing:\u00a0 We continued creating lists and writing SILLY STORIES that included sight and sound words.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Math:\u00a0 We are currently working on basic facts and relationships &#8211;\u00a0 using double facts and practicing addition facts.\u00a0 We also began math centers this week.\u00a0 They were a hit!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Science:\u00a0 Severe Weather was discussed this week as well as precautions we should take during scary weather.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/teachers.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/saxon-m\/files\/2016\/08\/index.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-559\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-559\" src=\"http:\/\/teachers.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/saxon-m\/files\/2016\/08\/index.png\" alt=\"index\" width=\"274\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Students of the week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Gaby and Nicholas<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Thank you for being SO hardworking!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/teachers.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/saxon-m\/files\/2016\/08\/calendar.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-562\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-562\" src=\"http:\/\/teachers.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/saxon-m\/files\/2016\/08\/calendar.jpeg\" alt=\"calendar\" width=\"256\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Important Dates:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">9\/20 &#8211;
