What a STELLAR first week of SECOND GRADE!<\/span><\/p>\n

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of the students in class this week.\u00a0 They are a great bunch!\u00a0 Rituals\/Routines and expectations were covered this week as well as some getting to know you activities and community building.\u00a0 We even started a few academic areas! Students are really enjoying our first class novel – Junie B. Jones Cheater Pants<\/span>.\u00a0 We even one the Spirit Award today for wearing the most RB Hunt shirts!\u00a0 We have a great crew – I am one lucky teacher.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some updates\/reminders<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0 Nut allergy – You MAY<\/strong><\/span> send your child with peanut butter to lunch.\u00a0 If they eat anything nut-related though they will need to immediately wash their hands afterward.\u00a0 Please emphasize the importance of this at home.\u00a0 I will be sure to remind students at school.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Snack – Please pack a healthy snack with your student every day.\u00a0 I prefer these to NOT<\/strong> <\/span>contain nuts to keep our classroom nut-free.\u00a0 Some examples are grapes, goldfish, gummies, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. \u00a0 Homework goes home Monday.\u00a0 I will send homework for the entire week and collect it on Friday.\u00a0 Please get in the habit of having your child read at least 20 minutes every night.\u00a0 Readers are leaders. <\/span><\/li>\n
  4. If you DO NOT<\/strong><\/span> want your child’s picture displayed on this website please contact me<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 If I do not hear from you by next week, I will assume I am cleared to display their picture. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. I will contact volunteers after the first month of school.\u00a0 The first few weeks are CRITICAL.\u00a0 As soon as I feel comfortable all students know expectations I will send home information.\u00a0 Trust me, I’d love the help!<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Please don’t forget to turn in a red, yellow, and green folder as well as 2 highlighters and red pens. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
