Your child’s first ELA test will be sent home today.\u00a0 If you look through the assessment, you will see the extent of the rigor. The transition from 2nd<\/sup> to 3rd<\/sup> grade is huge<\/strong>. That is why we are taking this slow and helping them learn, step-by-step, what is expected. Please look through the test to see the many notes, boxes, circles, cross outs, underlining, and highlighted items. These are some of the strategies we are teaching. In time, we expect to see them applied independently while taking tests. You can help by encouraging your child to use these strategies at home or while reviewing their work with them.\u00a0 We took this test as a class<\/strong>. Next week they will be expected to put these strategies to work and complete their assessment independently.<\/p>\n
