What LEARNING and GROWING went on in room 217 this week:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Academics<\/strong><\/p>\n

ELA:\u00a0 Our class novel this week was Snot Stew by Bill Wallace.\u00a0 This story is about two kittens, Toby and Kikki, that are adopted by a human family.\u00a0 But misunderstandings of human ways and a limited grasp of language lands them in near-catastrophic situations.. \u00a0 \u00a0 We also practiced and sorted words with inflectional endings -ed and -ing as well as covering root\/base words.\u00a0 Finally, we continued read realistic fictional stories and described how characters reacted to and solved problems.<\/p>\n

Writing:\u00a0 We read I won’t ever eat a tomato\u00a0 <\/em>by Lauren Child and wrote about things we liked and disliked.\u00a0 We really focused on descriptive language and editing our first piece to make it BETTER.<\/p>\n

Math:\u00a0 Chapter 4 is giving us LOTS of strategies to solve double-digit addition.\u00a0 These mathematicians are really enjoying discovering which way works best for their brain.<\/p>\n
