What a busy and FUN week!<\/span><\/strong>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"FUN RUN WAS A BLAST!\u00a0 We ran over 700 laps as a class!\u00a0 Talk about endurance!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/span>Dem Bones, Dem Bones, DEM DRY BONES!\u00a0 Studying and re-creating the HUMAN skeleton!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

ELA:\u00a0 Our class novel this week was It’s Halloween, I’m Turning Green by Dan Gutman.\u00a0 This hysterical Halloween novel had students laughing out loud and reminded us the importance of not eating TOO much candy October 31st.\u00a0\u00a0 We also reviewed spelling patterns of r-controlled words and sorted words with the vowels sounds -\/ou\/ and \/oo\/.\u00a0 Lastly, we read and recounted fables and folktales from around the world.<\/p>\n

Writing:\u00a0 We read Harry and the Terrible Whatzit <\/em>by Dick Gackenbach.\u00a0 Students wrote SCARY narratives following the entire writing process while challenging themselves to add onomatopoeia throughout their spooky stories.<\/p>\n

Math:\u00a0 We are focusing on addition and addition strategies for fluency.\u00a0 Multiple strategies and techniques were explored for these mathematicians.<\/p>\n

Science: Distinguishing human body parts<\/p>\n
