The race is ON!  The results are in… Amelie is the fastest girl in our class and Colvin is our fastest boy!  We will check again halfway through the year to see if anyone catches up!

 

Congratulations to this RAVENOUS READER who received a popsicle for earning OVER 50 AR points!  GO TATI, GO!

Great 1st day!

We had a great 1st day of 2nd Grade!

 

A few reminders:

  • Pack a healthy snack for your child daily
  • Water bottles are permitted on desks
  • Send in any necessary paperwork (reminders went home in red folders today)
  • If you do not have a library bag from last year, please send $1 in an envelope clearly labeled “Ms. Gorick library bag $1” so they can receive a new one.
  • Don’t forget to send in the additional supplies listed on the flipbook sent home at Meet-the-Teacher.  These items include: 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 green pocket folders, 4 additional glue sticks, 2 highlighters, 2 red pens.
  • Scholastic orders are due by September 1st.  My teacher code to order online is MCBQN.

Have a great weekend!  Rest up and be prepared for our first full week together!  Thank you for sharing your precious children with me!

What a year!   You are such a talented, respectful group of students – collectively and individually.  I have LOVED being your teacher!  I know you will continue to read, write, and solve problems every day, because you have internalized the value of learning.  I expect to continue hearing GREAT things about all 18 of you in the future.  Have a fun summer!  I’m already looking forward to seeing your smiling faces return to R.B Hunt in August!  It will be here before we know it!  Love you all!

  • Please send children to school IN their bathing suits with a school appropriate cover-up.

  • Goggles are permitted
  • A quality, nutritional snack for the afternoon – they are always STARVING!

Reminders:

  • We take i-Ready MATH tests Monday and Tuesday.  Please make sure your child gets enough sleep the night before and have a quality BREAKFAST in the morning.  They are problem solvers and mathematicians and will CRUSH this test!  🙂
  • PLEASE return all field trip forms and money for the swim field trip BY FRIDAY, APRIL 27TH.  If no money or signed permission slips are turned in by that time, your child will not be able to attend.  The district needs all money for field trips in by the end of the month and there are no exceptions.  *If your child does not plan to attend, please write me a note on the slip so I can check them off.  I will find appropriate classrooms at school for the children to be while we are swimming if they stay back.  🙂
