These kids are PUZZLE MASTERS! Another 1,000 piece puzzle completed in our class!
Benefits of puzzles and the brain: Puzzles engage both the left and right sides of the brain, activating areas related to analytical and logical thinking on the left, and creativity, holistic thinking, and visual-spatial reasoning on the right. They also benefit the frontal lobe, which is responsible for concentration, judgement, and emotional regulation.
Next Tuesday we will take the ELA F.A.S.T test and Thursday will be Math. Your child is prepared academically and are ready to “show what they know!” I am already proud of every single student – regardless of scores. However, I have a few requests from you prior to testing:
- Make sure your child gets a good night sleep the night before.
- Have a POSITIVE morning! Encouragement is key!
- Eat a delicious breakfast.
- Remind them to take their time and double-check their work.
- Arrive to school on time. Testing begins PROMPTLY at 8:30.
A blank envelope with information was sent home with your child Tuesday. Please write a note encourging them to try their best and work hard. I will place these notes on student desks before they have F.A.S.T testing on Tuesday and Thursday. Thank you for you support in making these students feel loved!
Swim week is the week AFTER testing! Here are some reminders for that week:
- Please send children to school IN their bathing suits with a school appropriate cover-up
- Sun block applied at home
- Pack a swim bag with a plastic bag for wet bathing suits, a towel, water bottle, and change of clothing (including underwear!)
- Goggles are permitted
- A quality, nutritional snack for the afternoon – they are always STARVING!
We are more than halfway through 4th quarter! Is your child 50% or more toward their A.R. goal?! Please make sure your child is reading daily. This makes a significant difference in their academic success.
