A.R. is officially up and running! Your child should be taking A.R. tests on any books they read to receive points. Congratulations to Clay, Jack, and Gretta for already earning 10 points and getting their chain of success!
Your child’s first ELA test will be sent home today. If you look through the assessment, you will see the extent of the rigor. The transition from 2nd to 3rd grade is huge. That is why we are taking this slow and helping them learn, step-by-step, what is expected. Please look through the test to see the many notes, boxes, circles, cross outs, underlining, and highlighted items. These are some of the strategies we are teaching. In time, we expect to see them applied independently while taking tests. You can help by encouraging your child to use these strategies at home or while reviewing their work with them. We took this test as a class. Next week they will be expected to put these strategies to work and complete their assessment independently.
