Many students also benefit from a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and counseling services.<\/strong><\/em><br \/><em><strong><br \/>The focus of our program is to teach students alternative behaviors to replace challenging ones, with data collected to monitor their progress. The ultimate aim of the Bridge Program at GRMS is to gradually reintegrate students into the general education setting with minimal support.<br \/>Mrs. Kimbrough<\/strong><\/em><\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong><u>ACADEMICS<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3><p><strong>Please check HAC<\/strong> (Home Access Center) grades are updated on <strong>Fridays<\/strong> for your child\u2019s classes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><h2><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><u>Social Perspectives<\/u><\/span><\/h2><p>The focus of our program is to teach students alternative behaviors to replace challenging ones, helping students reach their academic and affective learning potential. The goal of the Bridge Program at GRMS is to gradually reintegrate students into the general education setting with minimal support.<\/p><p><strong>The goal of social-emotional learning is for students to develop affective skills in four core areas:\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>Social Awareness<\/strong><br \/><strong>Self-Management<\/strong><br \/><strong>Relationship Skills<\/strong><br \/><strong>Responsible Decision-Making<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>When equipped with these competencies, children are better prepared to socialize productively, improve at resolving conflicts, and manage their emotions. Social-emotional skills carry through into adulthood. These skills are integrated through out your child\u2019s classes within the school day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699\"><em>Weekly Focus Topics: Emotions, Communication, Choices and Accountability!<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><u>Station Rotations<\/u><\/span><\/h3><p>The small group setting allows students to work with peers and adults to ensure they are getting the support they need. Students will rotate through a Learning Strategies Station, focusing on study skills, organizational and independent functioning skills, a Novel Study Station and for our Kinesthetic Learners, a Get Up and Move Station.<\/p><div id=\"block-v5hn20rmz\" class=\"b-c widget svelte-1b8zbxt\"><div class=\"relative block-wrapper\"><div class=\"relative block-box group svelte-1yxjc2k px-5\"><div class=\"relative w-full rounded block-content svelte-1yxjc2k\" data-block-type=\"text.title\" data-block-id=\"bv5hn20rmz\" data-block-toc=\"true\" data-toc-text=\"Week 1\"><p><strong>We invite you to come and see your student in ACTION! Please encourage your child to leave the phone at home or they must be in their backpacks, turned off.\u00a0<\/em><strong><u>Having a phone out will result in immediate confiscation from administration.<\/u><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/svg\/1f60e.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude0e\" \/><u>Dress Code Standards:<\/u><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Pants\/shorts must be worn around the waist and\u00a0<u>not sagging to expose undergarments<\/u>. Shorts must be mid-thigh length. Shirts must cover mid-drift and have straps.<\/li><li>No house slippers, Healy\u2019s or steel-toed boots allowed.<\/li><li><strong>Hats\/Hoods\/Dew Rags\/Other head coverings are\u00a0<u>NOT\u00a0<\/u>allowed during school hours.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/svg\/1f601.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude01\" \/><u>FOOD and DRINKS:<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0No Energy Drinks\u00a0<\/strong>or open containers allowed on campus<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>No food is allowed in classrooms. Carpets have been replaced. \u00a0<strong><u>The Bridge Team will be eating breakfast and lunch with the class in the cafeteria. \u00a0<\/u><\/strong><em>T<\/em><em>hroughout the school year, I may occasionally provide individually wrapped candy as a classroom incentive or recognition. Items may include Jolly Ranchers, Starbursts, Skittles, Dum-Dums, or other commercially packaged treats.\u00a0<strong>If your child has a food allergy, dietary restriction, or you do not want your child to receive these items, please contact\u00a0<\/strong>me so an appropriate non-food alternative can be provided.<\/em><\/p><p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/svg\/1f61d.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude1d\" \/><u>School Supplies<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0Bridge Team students will be provided with folders and basic daily school supplies. If your student has a General Ed.
