grades have been updated for your child&#8217;s classes.\u00a0<\/p><p>The focus of our program is to teach students alternative behaviors to replace challenging ones, helping students reach their academic and affective learning potential. The goal of the Bridge Program at GRMS is to gradually reintegrate students into the general education setting with minimal support. We follow the same standards and curriculum as general education students. Students have a chance on Wednesdays to make up or remediate any missing class assignments or redo any work they can improve on, for a better grade. Wednesdays have been designated for this purpose, please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0Fridays have been designated for summative assessments and for the chance for students to show what they know! This may come in the form of a traditional style &#8220;test or quiz&#8221; which we review vocabulary, goals and learning targets prior to taking assessments. Students receive immediate feedback and have the opportunity to remediate, if needed. Assessments include activities in the form of projects, one-pagers, exit tickets, polls, vocabulary challenges. Students explored ways to navigate challenging situations, improve their communication skills and advocate for help when needed. We identified what kindness looks like to them in different social situations, what to do when people are unkind, and explored different ways to show kindness to peers and adults- especially in challenging situations. We ended the week painting kindness rocks, encouraging students to spread positivity and joy.
