Mrs. Duprey has been teaching for 14 years. She is a graduate of Florida State University with an Elementary Education degree. For the past 10 years, she has taught second, third, and fourth grade at Durbin Creek Elementary. She is married and has 2 sons, Logan, who is in fourth grade at POA and Gavin, who started Kindergarten this year. Mrs. Duprey has the unique opportunity to teach in the same community that she lives in.
Ms. Schwartz formally taught at Hickory Creek before moving to Patriot Oaks. This is her seventh year of teaching and third year in Saint Johns County. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University (Go Noles!) and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Studies with a focus in Reading from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. She is recently married and has stepson in third grade who attends Patriot Oaks Academy this year.
Ms. Newcomb has taught in St. Johns County for 8 years. She began at Timberlin Creek Elementary teaching 2nd and 5th grade. She then served as the school’s Instructional Literacy Coach at South Woods Elementary. Prior to this, she taught in New York and California at a variety of grade levels. She is originally from Buffalo, New York, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Reading & Language Arts. Her strength is building a love of reading at all levels and remediating reading difficulties.
Mr. Beverly is a third generation educator and product of this amazing school system. He was born, raised, and educated in this area. This is his fifth year teaching and third year in fourth grade. As co-sponsor of the school’s safety patrol, he enjoys teaching leadership and responsibility to his class.
Mrs. Chirstofoli grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, but has lived in Atlanta, Georgia, for the past 15 years. She and her husband decided to relocate back down to the area. They wanted a lifestyle change for our two daughters, Marisa (8) and Daniela (5), and to be closer to family and the beach! Throughout her 13 years teaching, she has gained experience working with all grade levels K-5th. In addition, she have been a Reading Recovery/Literacy Coach, Gifted Specialist and Special Education teacher. When not teaching or taking care of her family, she enjoys yoga, traveling, being by the water and reading!
Mrs. Smith previously taught sixth grade math at Twin Lakes Academy Middle in Duval County. She is married (her husband is also a local teacher), is a new mother, and has two dogs and one cat. She is a graduate of the University of North Florida with a concentration in social work and the Florida Educator Institute courses. (at UNF).
Mrs. Lewis has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Central Florida. She recently taught 4th grade for five years in Palm Beach County, and 2nd grade for one year in Broward County. She has also served as a curriculum writer for an online educational company for five years, and has been a substitute teacher in St. Johns County for the past two years. She is married with two children, a second grader and fourth grader at Patriot Oaks Academy. To top it all off, she’s realizing an amazing opportunity to live in the same community she teaches in, Durbin Crossing!
