For as long as I can remember, the art classroom has been my favorite place to be. As a student, I was always creating and never imagined any job that wasn’t in the creative field. My love of all things artistic blossomed into a passion for teaching art during my first year of college. I volunteered at an after-school tutoring program in an underserved community, and gradually began teaching art lessons when homework was finished.
I believe teaching art relates to the student’s heart as well as their mind. In my classroom we focus on creative expression while also practicing kindness during critiques, dedication as we work to finish everything we start and perseverance as we master new skills. My art teacher motto is, “I’m here to show you the world is art, teach you how to make your mark, and help you see the beauty that is all around and within you.”
