How to Complete Your DBAs

Congratulations! You’ve reached the end of a module and are ready for a Discussion Based Assessment (DBA)!

I do not schedule individual DBA appointments. Please log in to my next Zoom session for your DBA. My Zoom link is: https://tinyurl.com/mrslemonszoom2 Note: If you cannot make one of these times or would like to do a DBA sooner, please call me! Do not text or email first, just call. 🙂 My number is 904-701-3092. I will return your call within 24 hours (not including non-school days). If you call me over the weekend or a school break, I will call you back on the next school day.

**You may temporarily work into the next module if you are waiting for my next Zoom session or for me to call you back.

Zoom session times*:

Monday 8 – 8:30 am
Monday 12 – 12:30 pm
Tuesday 8 – 8:30 am
Tuesday 7:45 – 8 pm
Wednesday 9:30 – 10 am
Wednesday 1 – 1:30 pm
Thursday 8 – 8:30 am
Thursday 1:30 – 2 pm
Friday 9 – 9:30 am

*Note: Zoom sessions will not be held on any school holidays. We follow the official St. Johns County School District calendar (https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/calendar/).

You can only complete one DBA per day!!! That’s one big reason why you shouldn’t skip over DBAs.

When you log in to my Zoom for a DBA, I will keep you in the waiting room until it is your turn. Make sure you set up/test your audio from the waiting room so that it’s already working once your turn arrives. While you are in the meeting waiting room, work on one of your courses! Just keep your computer volume turned on so you can hear when I bring you into the Zoom meeting for your DBA. Wait times can get long (around an hour at times), but just work on something else while you wait. You do not need to have a camera or use video, but I would love to see you if you are comfortable turning your camera on! You will need to use audio (I can call your phone if you don’t have a microphone, just send me your phone number in the chat when you log in).

Completing Your DBA

During the DBA we will have a short conversation about what you have learned in the corresponding module(s). I will ask you to tell me about a few things you learned. As long as you give me a few details about two topics in the module, you’ll be all set! You don’t have to use your camera, but you will need to use a microphone or provide a phone number I can call to talk with you. The DBA must be verbal, no exceptions.

After our conversation you will get the password for your module exam! The actual DBA will only take about five minutes and is very easy. Don’t sweat it and don’t skip it! I am here to help you! 🙂 – Mrs. Lemons
