Jazz Band 1 – 4th period daily (22 member cap)<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Performances<\/em> <\/span><\/strong>– Concerts, Faculty Holiday Luncheon, FBA Assessments, Lakeside Jazz Festival, Jacksonville University and other performances throughout the year. As premier ensemble at Creekside, this group has performed in New Orleans, Nashville RCA Studio B, Gatlinburg, Lakeside Jazz Festival, UCF Jazz Festival, UNF Festival, Jacksonville Landing, Jacksonville University Jazz Festival, with the Preservation Hall Band in Preservation Hall, New Orleans, La. two different times, and the St. Louis Jazz Symposium.\u00a0 This group has also commissioned two (2) pieces in publication through Jalen Music, composed by Chris Creswell.<\/p>\n

DRESS – All Black Shoes\/Socks\/Pants (we will provide performance shirts for $30.00)<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need a composition<\/strong> notebook<\/strong> for note taking as well as “intentional listening” (every Friday)<\/p>\n

You will also need manuscript paper for transcriptions.<\/p>\n

Jazz Band 2 – 3rd period daily (22 member cap)<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Performances<\/em> <\/span><\/strong>– Concerts, FBA Assessments, Lakeside Jazz Festival and other performances throughout the year. **THIS CLASS MAY be broken into 2\/3 jazz bands based on size and instrumentation**<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

**Students enrolled in Jazz MUST<\/strong> be enrolled in Concert\/Symphonic\/Wind or Percussion as well. All students participate in concert band and marching season. IF interested in jazz, make sure your schedule accommodates for 2 electives of band**<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
