Ms. Erin Arnold
About Me:
Hello! I’m Ms. Arnold and I teach 2nd grade. I am from Smith Mountain Lake, VA, but I have lived in Saint Augustine, FL for 23 years. Here are some more things to know about me:
- I love books! I love to read books, but also listen to them when I’m driving
- My favorite color is red
- My favorite snacks are popcorn and ice- yes, I am an ice chewer
- I have 2 cats (Peep and Kevin), a dog (Merf), and a snake (Slytherin)
- My happy places are Smith Mountain Lake, the beach, and Universal Studios
- I have been teaching for 14 years, but every year feels new and exciting!
Fun Fact
I love to run and I am on a “run streak” of 1617 days (as of 8/23/24)- this means I have run at least 1 mile a day every day for over 4 years with NO days off. Running helps me think and it makes me happy.
My Family
This is my family! My husband, Pete, is a mechanical engineer and is also a drummer. My son, Tim, just graduated from high school and is studying Coastal Biology in college. He loves to surf and skateboard for fun. My daughter, Eloise, is a senior in high school. She loves to surf too, but she really loves to write music. She wants to study songwriting and business when she goes to college.
This is Merf! He is a Golden Retriever and is 2.5 years old. He was a suprise birthday gift from my parents and sister when I turned 40. Merf loves to catch lizards and fish! He is also obsessed with jellyfish.
We love our cats, Peep and Kevin. Kevin is Tim’s cat and he acts like a dog. He is a “Manx”- this means he was born without a tail. Peep is a fluffy princess who just wants to nap all day. Neither of the cats like our pet snake, Slytherin, even though he would really like for them to be closer.
This is Smith Mountain Lake, where I grew up and where my parents still live. There are NO sharks or alligators in our lake. The lighthouse is our dock and my dad built it himself out of all recycled materials.
