Ms. Erin Arnold
About Me:
Hello! I’m Ms. Arnold and I teach 2nd grade. I am from Smith Mountain Lake, VA, but I have lived in Saint Augustine, FL for 24 years. I like to call both the beach and the mountains my home. Here are some more things to know about me:
- I love books! I love to read books, but also listen to them when I’m driving
- My favorite color is red
- My favorite snacks are popcorn and ice- yes, I am an ice chewer
- I have 2 cats (Tucker and Kevin), a dog (Merf), and a snake (Slytherin)
- My happy places are Smith Mountain Lake, the beach, and Universal Studios
- I have been teaching for 15 years, but every year feels new and exciting!
Fun Fact
I love to run and I am on a “run streak” of 1,930 days (as of 7/6/25))- this means I have run at least 1 mile a day every day for over 5 years with NO days off. Running helps me think and it makes me happy.
My Family
This is my family! My husband, Pete, is a mechanical engineer and is also a drummer. My son, Tim, is a sophomore at UNF. He loves to surf and skateboard for fun. My daughter, Eloise, is a freshman at Belmont University in Nashville. She loves to surf too, but she really loves to write music. She is is studying copyright law in the music business program at Belmont.
This is Merf! He is a Golden Retriever and is 3.5 years old. He was a suprise birthday gift from my parents and sister when I turned 40. Merf loves to catch lizards and fish! He is also obsessed with jellyfish.
This is Smith Mountain Lake, where I grew up and where my parents still live. There are NO sharks or alligators in our lake. The lighthouse is our dock and my dad built it himself out of all recycled materials. This summer, I am renovating the top floor to make an apartment to stay in when there are too many guests in the house.
