Retesting and Reteaching in 5th Grade

Students who earn less than 70% on any summative assessment, will be given the opportunity to raise their grades through test corrections. Students will be allowed to use resources such journals and textbooks to complete these corrections. The test corrections require students to not only provide a new answer, but to also provide reasoning as to why they chose their initial answer. Students must complete and turn in their test correction by the assigned date (determined by the teacher) in order to raise their grade. Students cannot receive higher than a 70% for their final grade. Students will be pulled into small groups during class to help remediate concepts that they did not master, however, the corrections are to be completed at home unless otherwise specified by the teacher. Below are the forms that will be used in every 5th grade class for corrections.
