The ABC’s of Kindergarten

A

Arrival-Arrivals, as well as dismissals, are a very organized process at TCE.  The children start learning the routine from the first day they start kindergarten. Please arrive at school on time.  School begins at 8:25. If your child arrives after 8:25 he/she is tardy and will have to be checked in at the front office before coming to class.  The school doors will open at 8:00.  If your child arrives at school after 8:00 but before 8:30 he/she will report to their designated spot.

Attendance-Please have your child attend school each day unless he/she is sick.  Your child should be kept home if they he/she has a fever, diarrhea or has been vomiting in the last 24 hours.  If your child is absent, please use the link located on the TCE webpage under the parent tab to let the school know.  Upon returning to school, please send a note explaining the reason for your child’s absence.

   B

Birthdays-We enjoy celebrating birthdays; however; we will celebrate with a “BIRTHDAY in a BAG” for the birthday child.  More information will be sent home with your child close to the time of his/her birthday.

 C

Communication is an essential part of a successful year for your child.  We will be corresponding with you in many ways throughout the year.  These include newsletters, your child’s daily folder, email and telephone calls.

Conferences– Having a conference with you is very important to us, but to serve you and your child better, we ask that you make an appointment.

Class Events- Until further notice, there will be no planned class events. When we do have class events, please understand, younger siblings are not allowed in the classroom during school hours.

D

Daily Responsibility Folder- Each child will have a daily responsibility folder. Inside the folder will be notebook paper.  Your child needs to bring his/her folder to school EVERY day.

Dismissal-Dismissal, like arrivals, is a very organized process.  We color code all our buses and place colored tags on your child’s backpack to match the bus he/she will ride.  Staff members escort all children to their dismissal location.  * Any dismissal changes need to be made through TCE webpage at least an hour before the end of the school day.  If you have problems with the website call the school at 904-547-7400.

E Early Dismissal Wednesdays-every Wednesday school dismisses at 1:40 pm.
