Academics

ELA:  Students read and discussed Molly’s Piligrim by Barbara Cohen.  This book included some excellent social/emotional topics that brought up relevant conversations about empathy.  We are looking forward to watching the movie next week and doing a book vs. movie comparison.  We also continued our focus on pronouns, spelling patterns, and how finding syllables in words help us with unknown words pronunciation and spelling.  Finally, we studied Authors Purpose (Think P.I.E…. Persude, Inform, Entertain).

Writing:  Non-fiction descriptive writing

Math:  SUBTRACTION!

Social Studies:  Native Americans
