Academics

ELA:  We began Esio Trot by Roald Dahl this week.  This story is about shy Mr Hoppy and his love for his neighbor, Mrs Silver. It was one of Roald Dahl’s last stories.  We also read AlphaOpps! and continued our practice of putting and finding words in alphabetical order.  Finally, we read practiced strategies for understanding unfamiliar words.

Writing:  We read Sheila Rae the Brave by Kevin Henkes and wrote about CHARACTER TRAITS for a person or animal of choice.

Math:  Chapter 4 is giving us LOTS of strategies to solve double-digit addition.  These mathematicians are really enjoying discovering which way works best for their brain.

Science:  Matter
