Congratulations on starting your exploration of Spanish! Over 28 million people speak Spanish in the United States alone. Spanish is spoken by more than 300 million people world-wide, making it the second most popular language after Chinese. It is the official language of Spain, nine South American Countries, seven Central American countries, Equitorial Guinea, The Dominican Republic and Cuba.
