Welcome to my website! I teach two courses here at Gamble Rogers Middle School. Computer Applications in Business 1 is a semester-long course that assists students in making informed decisions regarding their future academic and occupational goals in the Business Management and Administration career cluster. Our content includes instruction in keyboarding, computer hardware, internet and research skills, word processing, electronic presentation, and spreadsheet software, and skills for business applications. Instruction and activities take place in our computer lab, where each student has access to a desktop computer with the Microsoft Office 2016 Suite. Using hands-on activities, your student will learn the skills necessary to effectively and productively use the software, hardware, and technology necessary for everyday success in the modern world.
ICT (Information and Communication Technology) 1 is a new course to Gamble Rogers Middle School. This class allows 7th grade students to earn industry certification in Multimedia which they can take with them as they apply to academy’s in high school, job applications, and eventually college. ICT 1 is a year long course that provides students with computer, digital, and information technology skills necessary for success in the future. Content includes digital technologies, web development, multimedia, intermediate word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, along with cybersecutiry and computer programming.
For both courses, research and classwork is completed in class unless your child is absent for an extended period of time. If you are interested in seeing what your child is doing in our lab, updates are posted weekly on Schoology. If you would like to support your child in this class, please encourage them to practice good organization, digital citizenship, and the correct habits of keyboarding and typing at home. Also, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. E-mail is always the easiest and quickest way to get a hold of me. I’m grateful and appreciative for the opportunity to teach your child, and I look forward to a new year full of inquiry, discovery, and virtual adventure.
